Fall Season Anime 2019 Reviews

Hi everyone. As we are approaching the end of the Fall Season, I’ll be providing a very brief reviews of the anime shows ending during the Fall Season that I have reviewed so far.

How will this brief review work? I will rate both the Japanese Dub and Dub on a scale of 1 to 10. Afterwards, I will provide a brief review and few comments regarding the shows based on the rating given.

Dr. Stone:

Japanese Dub: 9/10
English Dub: 9/10
Overall Review/Comments: One of the best show I have seen so far. It is a show that reveals the science involved in many of our daily tasks that many of us take for granted nowadays. The story was well-paced with sufficient character development overall which leaves little room for doubt. This show has definitely inspired me to strive and explore in science and technology in my career.

Ensemble Stars: The Animation:

Japanese Dub: 8/10
English Dub: 7/10
Overall Review/Comments: A good show which portrays the struggles and challenges faced by a newcomer unit to the idol industry as well as challenging the norm in their academy for the better. The story feels fast-paced and there wasn’t enough character development overall thus leaving more questions than answers for the viewer. However, the English dub does sound a bit strange when transitioning from English VA to Japanese VA during the singing portions of the show.

Stars Align:

Japanese Dub: 9/10
English Dub: 9/10
Overall Review/Comments: This show portrays Toma trying to save the boy’s soft tennis club from being closed down due to lack of achievements. He enlists the help of Maki by paying him to join the club. Overall, the story is well-paced with good character development for every team member. However, it quickly took a dark turn at end of the last episode which many may find odd but not surprising given how the overall story was portrayed.

Fire Force:

Japanese Dub: 9/10
English Dub: 9/10
Overall Review/Comments: The show starts off with Company 8 which is basically like a division in the Fire Force organisation make their way up the ranks whilst fighting corruption in other Fire Force Company in order to eliminate the Evangelist and for Shnira specifically, rescue Sho whom is his long lost little brother. The story was well-paced with a bit of humour now and then which keeps the audience engaged with overall show and character development.

Sword Art Online: Alicization War Of Underworld(1st Cour):

Japanese Dub: 8/10
English Dub: /10(Not released yet)
Overall Review/Comments: This 3rd cour(Covers mostly Alicization Invading and beginning of Alicization Awakening) of SAO Alicization starts off with preparation for the Final Load Test in the Underworld where an unexpected turn of events occur as the Ocean Turtle was invaded by a group wanting to steal Alice. The story feels slightly fast-paced even though it has fewer gaps compared to previous seasons which require the viewer to read up the Light Novel to get a more in-depth look. There is a slight character development which is sufficient given the story’s progress. However, there is still one cour to go which will resume in April 2020 therefore will provide an overall updated review for the entire Alicization series.

And that wraps it up for my reviews of anime for the Fall 2019 Season Simulcasts. Stay tuned for my list for the Winter 2020 Season Simulcasts which will posted later this week. Until then, I see you guys next time and Happy New Year everyone.
